A Thousand Miles
You know I'd walk a thousand miles if I could just see you tonight... Hear of this Before? Vanessa Carlton from her hit single in 2002. As you can see, it has been currently eight years since her debut album. This hit album "Be Not Nobody" melted the hearts of true pop fans of the early 2000s. Her song A Thousand Miles was top in Australia and top five in the United States. Her aspiration for writing such a meaningful song came through when she decided to compose a song about her love for someone out of reach. She called the song "a combination of reality and fantasy. It's about a love that so consumes you that you do anything for it. That's how I felt at that time." Vanessa composed this song written for playing the piano, and was written in her own home in Philadelphia. This song has been so popular that it has been re-written and published by our own T.I. and heart melting David Archuleta. It was nominated for three Grammy awards in 2003. The reason behind this song hit me when i realized the lyrics and how it connected to so many people in the world. Sometimes we know we cant have something but we're willing to do whatever we have to just to get it, even if it means we'll have to "walk a thousand miles." So get ready, get set, start running.

Everything Is Beautiful
I couldn't imagine life without music. In the past year or so, a certain kind of genre caught my eye. Recently there has been a widespread of new Christian music. Ranging from popular Chris Tomlin to newly-discovered Seabird, a new kind of music has been brought to America. Many people hear songs on the radio, not realizing the songs are actually Christian related. If you listen carefully, you can hear the slight relative lyrics to God. Some people hear the lyrics and automatically think Christian music isn't cool. People listen to rap because of its beat, not necessarily because of the lyrics, which by the way is hard to make out and just look for a good song or beat to it. If people would flip to other music channels other than the hip-hop stations, people could learn much easier lyrics that are meaningful to the God life. So if you are a Christian (or just willing to be open to new ideas), flip to 98.7 and be patient with it. Don't worry if you don't like it right away because I know I don't either always. If you don't, email me at pookster928@aim.com and I will give you some Christian Rock options ASAP. Spread the word. 'Cause I Gotta Feeling you're gonna like it.
